We are paralyzed by a collective awe and terror of Artificial Intelligence. As Large Language Models (LLMs) compose poetry, write complex code, and simulate deep philosophical debates, a singular narrative has gripped Silicon Valley: AGI is near.
The prevailing assumption is one of scale. The tech industry believes that if we just continue to increase the complexity of these models—adding trillions of parameters and unfathomable processing power—a conscious, thinking entity will eventually emerge as a byproduct.
This pursuit is based on a profound misconception.
To understand what AI truly is, we must briefly step outside the realm of computer science. By tracing a single, unbroken map of reality drawn by a 20th-century mystic, a quantum physicist, a maverick mathematician, and a legendary sociologist, we uncover the ultimate geometry of the mind.
When viewed through this lens, AI is not waking up to human-level consciousness. Instead, it is exposing the uncomfortable truth that what we proudly call “human thought” has always been a mechanical illusion.
